Celebration of the 78th Independence Day of India in Warsaw




The 78th Independence Day of India was celebrated with joy and enthusiasm, in the presence of members of the Indian community and friends of India in Poland in the morning of 15th August, 2024 at the Embassy of India, Warsaw. The celebrations commenced with the unfurling of the National Flag by Ambassador Nagma M. Mallick, followed by singing of the National Anthem. Thereafter, Ambassador read out the address to the nation by the Hon’ble President HE Ms. Droupadi Murmu.

H.E Ms.  Nagma M. Mallick felicitated Mr. Aryan Surjeet Dadiala, an Indian swimmer who successfully swam through the waters of Gulf of Gdansk, an event which was dedicated to raising awareness about the “urgent Need of Collective Efforts on Climate Change”. During the event, Ambassador also unveiled a book written by Mr Razvi Hussaini titled 'Indians in Poland-Success Stories'.

At the  end, the Embassy hosted a photo exhibition "Partition Horrors Remembrance Day" to depict the sufferings and pain of millions of people who experienced partition.
