The Culture Wing of the Embassy of India, Warsaw will be commencing regular Traditional Yoga Classes by ICCR-deputed Native Yoga Teacher - Ms. Kirti Gahlawat, as per the following schedule:
Days : Monday & Thursday
Timings : 08:30 - 09:30
Day : Wednesday & Friday
Timing : 18:00 - 19:00 hrs
All interested may register by sending your particular along with your recent photographs at icc.warsaw@mea.gov.in
The classes will be conducted in the Embassy Auditorium [ul. Mysliwiecka 2, 00-459 (entry through Kawalerii Street)]
The classes will observe all holidays as per the Embassy of India, Warsaw list for 2017, which is displayed at the Embassy website.
WHAT IS YOGA?
In Sanskrit, the word yoga comes from the root yuj which means "to add", "to join", "to unite", or "to attach”. Yoga originated with the origin of Universe. Yoga is a combination of physical, mental & spiritual practices. The UNITED NATIONS GENERAL ASSEMBLY adopted 21st June as International Day of Yoga because it is the longest day in the northern hemisphere. Yoga has been declared as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of the mankind on December 1, 2016 to bring universal peace, harmony & brotherhood.
ABOUT YOGA CLASSES & WORKSHOPS
Keeping in mind all the age groups, Yoga routine of 60 minutes is designed to achieve physical, mental & spiritual benefits. Yoga sessions will be a fusion of different forms of Yoga which helps in attaining total mind-body conditioning, develops balance, flexibility and core strength.
Yoga workshop provides better understanding of the yogic concepts & science of Yoga, it also Emphasis on deepening the knowledge of yoga. Such workshops prove beneficial particularly for Yoga Teachers & regular yoga practitioners.
Topic of workshop will be related to Traditional, Hatha, Asthanga yogic practises. It will include Meditation, Pranayama, Shodhan kriyas and so on. Topic of workshop can be amended as per the need/requirement.
ABOUT KIRTI GAHLAWAT- A science graduate, with a post- graduate diploma in Yogic science, she is a certified Yoga Teacher & Yoga Examiner (under the scheme of AYUSH Department of the Government of India), Certified Hatha Yoga Teacher (Yoga Alliance International).
She won two gold & two silver medals in World Yoga Championships held in Portugal, Thailand & New Delhi. Six times Gold medallist in six consecutive National Yoga Championships & many more medals in yoga championships at state, national, international levels. She is being honoured on numerous occasions for her achievements in the field of Yoga by Panchkula District Administration (HARYANA).
She led the International Yoga Day 2016 celebrations in 2016 in Warsaw, in collaboration with the Association of Yoga Schools & Celebrity Yoga Ambassadors of Poland. She has visited several countries for promotion & demonstration of Yoga including Portugal, Thailand & Singapore.
Deputed at Embassy of India, Warsaw as Teacher of Indian Culture to spread awareness about Yoga, Sanskrit & Indian culture, traditions & civilization. An international/national awardee in Yoga as practitioner, teacher & promoter of Yoga with ongoing yoga practice of more than 15 years.
